The world of food is one that often takes place behind closed doors – in the apothecaries of the modern world. In kitchens everywhere, teams of chefs create dishes that the average family cook could hardly dream of. Since I was a child, I’ve loved every aspect of food, from designing recipes through to eating. I want to take this love and open a window into the secret lives of some of the best food in the world – from restaurants as much seen on Netflix’s Chef’s Table as in the Good Pub Guide.
In our Instagram generation, I want to tell the stories behind the food – exploring what goes in to the beautiful, staged images of Pinterest and its contemporaries, for people around the world who love food as much as I do.
This year, I’m pursuing a particular challenge. Each June, Restaurant magazine publishes a list of the 50 best restaurants in the world. Of these 50, 27 are in Europe. Over the next year I will be attempting to visit them all, from London to Moscow, reviewing the dining experience and telling the stories behind exceptional food.
